Day 5

Set off again from the gates of Prievidza and visit the area around Nitrianske Pravno (toward Žilina).
This picturesque little village is the home of the Museum of Carpathian German Culture (Tel. +421 46 544 71 73) – tours by appointment). Near the museum is the Church of St. John the Baptist, the village hall and typical burgher houses. In sunny weather, don’t miss the Stations of the Cross (Calvary) in Solka (1 km from Nitrianske Pravno). During this walk you will see 2 churches, 3 chapels, 14 regular and 8 supplementary stations. If you have the interest, go over to Vyšehradný (a neighborhood in Nitrianske Pravno) and see a reconstructed rustic house and its wooden bell from the time when the town was settled by Germans.
