Day 1
You are invited to look around the city on the
"Golden Prievidza Way" Two circuits offer a view of preserved monuments and places of interest in the City of Prievidza, as well as significant buildings and places that no longer exist but are reminders from the past. The small circuit has 28 stops, while the large circuit has 45 stops.
You can ask for a guided tour at the Upper Nitra Tourist Information Office at Námestie slobody 4, Prievidza or by telephoning +421 46/16 186.
Regular sightseeing tour in the city – Prievidza Golden Way
During the tourist season (1 June – 30 September)
Small circuit with no advance notice necessary.
- Each Wednesday and Friday at 3.00 PM
- Participants meet in front of the Tourist Information Office at Námestie slobody 4, Prievidza
- During City Days and the Prievidza Fair, the sightseeing tour leaves daily and is free.

Off-season (1 October – 31 May)

If you are looking for adventure, spend some time underground on a visit to the
Upper Nitra Mine Underground Museum (Hornonitrianskeho Banského Skanze), where you can take part in an excursion into the Cigeľ lignite mine, located 4 km from Prievidza (Information and ticket sales: Upper Nitra Tourist Information Center tel. +421 46/16186). To tour the underground mine, sport clothes and shoes are necessary.
